I've heard they are only any good if you have direct cable, if you use a router or adsl the improvement is zero. ie they are only as good as the next link in the chain

Hello again to all Okay it isn't my Birthday but I am going to be buying a new PC once I return home. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking at the Area-51 ALX, I know it is very expensive so any ideas would be great to reduce the cost. Thanks to all

I am looking at the Area-51 ALX, I know it is very expensive Hey Bruce, is THIS the one you mean? Starting at $6799,- That's way to expensive imo, but I think Sky can tell you more about the recent hardware that is 'hot' atm. At least be sure the new machine would be capable of playing Crysis with it EDIT: I just found a review by CNET

you certainly wont buy a higher spec machine, this month ;D you could certainly build it cheaper yourself, hell I could build it and fly out to Italy and install it for that price ;D bluray is too expensive atm and as yet unnecessary (unless your gonna watch movies instead of playing games) The new as yet unreleased ATI graphics chip looks hot, apparently preproduction models using beta drivers are outperforming the 8800GTX and AMD haven't released any new CPUs for a couple of weeks ;D and alienware is like nike shoes you pay a premium price for the name
