XT4 has been released for the MP Community.
Here whats new.
As you all know, Punkbuster doesn't support Far Cry anymore. That's the reason why we developed a new anticheat-engine on our own. This fresh engine doesn't need any configuration anymore and works on all XT servers in the same way. The engine can not be de-activated. Cheaters can be banned centrally, so no exchange of ban lists will be necessary anymore, too. Is someone on the master ban list (MBL), he will no longer be able to play on all XT based servers.

The user administration sub-system has been re-factored. The well-known RCON login module has been replaced by a new server-based authentication module. Server admins will gain a reserved slot in order to join the gameplay, although the server is listed as full. The map updater of XT version 3 has been also replaced by a new download module.
The major changes have been done to the main scripting kernel. It was our main objective to achieve a well balanced and snappy game play without using (often suspect) game tweaks on client side.
What's left of the old eXcaliTrone?
We didn't touch the user and admin panels. The CTF game type is still in place, but has been re-worked. CTF is now a real game type like ASSAULT, FFA and TDM. The multiplayer physics engine has been optimized. All objects can now be destroyed and manipulated. Mappers will have to follow some new guidelines when creating new maps for XT version 4. We will provide a demo physics map in the coming days.
As said before the new anticheat-engine is active on dedicated Far Cry servers. This engine can not be de-activated and controls the Far Cry installation and the operation of the client and the servers. The engine will not operate in LAN games. It is no longer possible to create a server in the Far Cry main menue. It is also no longer possible to play a MOD when running XT version 4.
